REVILLA PAYS TRIBUTE TO THE LATE LILY MONTEVERDE

DURING Senate session on Wednesday (August 7), Senator Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. paid tribute to the late veteran film producer and Philippine entertainment pillar Lily Yu Chu-Monteverde, more affectionately known as “Mother Lily”. Monteverde passed away on August 4, 2024 at the age of 85.

In Revilla’s resolution that the Senate adopted, the chamber expresses its profound sympathy and sincere condolences on the demise of Monteverde and recognizes her magnificent talent and legendary artistry which immensely contributed to the country’s arts and culture, especially in the film industry.

“Ang kanyang ‘di matatawarang kontribusyon sa pelikulang Pilipino ay laging magsisilbing inspirasyon at gabay sa marami pang henerasyon ng mga artista, direktor, at lahat ng nasa likod ng industriya. Sa kanyang paglisan, mananatiling siyang yaman ng industriya. Walang makapagpupuno ng iniwan niyang ambag hindi lang sa mundo ng entertainment industry, kundi sa puwang ng aming mga puso,” Revilla said. -30-
