Bong Revilla to re-file OFW Hospital bill

Returning Senatorial bet Bong Revilla will re-file his pet bill which seeks to establish and institutionalize an OFW Hospital dedicated to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families.

Through the establishment of the hospital, OFWs will be prioritized for confinement and other medical procedures under the care of best doctors and experts.

The veteran lawmaker cited the recent case of Baby Jane Allas who was sacked from her job in Hongkong after being diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer and left to fend for herself and her illness. "Kitang kita ang pangangailangan sa programang ito," Revilla said.

The public servant, who has championed several health legislations in his previous terms, affirmed that under his bill, the OFW hospital will provide quality medical services and procedures using state-of-the-art facilities and equipment subsidized by government, or even free depending on the medical condition of the patient.

"Mayroon tayong Veterans' Hospital para sa ating mga buhay na bayani. Bakit wala tayong OFW Hospital para sa mga bagong bayani?," Revilla lamented. " We should give equal care and importance to our modern day heroes," he added.

Revilla believes that an OFW Hospital serves as the government's way of reciprocating their hardwork, sacrifices and contribution to nation-building during their prime years.

"Kailangan natin ipakita ang ating pasasalamat sa ating mga OFW. We owe them that much," Revilla ended.
