SEN. BONG REVILLA LAUDS GOVERNMENT'S SUCCESS IN LOWERING INFLATION, PUSHES FOR WAGE INCREASE IN ALYANSA’s CAMSUR SORTIE

SENATOR Ramon Bong Revilla, Jr. praised the government's efforts in bringing down inflation to 2.1% last February during the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign sortie in Pili, Camarines Sur on Friday (March 7), underscoring its positive impact on Filipino households

The veteran lawmaker highlighted the importance of maintaining low inflation rates to ensure the affordability of basic goods and services. He reiterated his commitment to focus on policies that would keep inflation at a minimum and protect consumers from price surges.

The solon noted that with the easing inflation, there is an opportune time to push for a legislated wage increase. He emphasized that the government's efforts in stabilizing the economy should also translate to tangible benefits for Filipino workers, particularly through higher wages and better employment opportunities.

Sen. Bong Revilla, who has long advocated for a living wage, has filed numerous bills pushing for an across-the-board wage increase. In the current Congress, he filed a proposal for a PHP 150 legislated wage hike and is hopeful it will be passed into law before the session closes June this year.

His legislative agenda aligns with his platform of "Aksyon sa Tunay na Buhay," which focuses on providing decent jobs, sufficient wages, food security, and ample support for the needy. He also called for continued vigilance in keeping the economy stable while enhancing the purchasing power of Filipinos.

Bong Revilla expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. and his administration for effectively managing inflation and steering the country toward economic recovery.

A day before the campaign sortie, Bong Revilla also conducted a motorcade across various towns in the Bicol Region. During the course of his visit, he met with local chief executives to discuss pressing issues and concerns in their respective cities and municipalities.

The senator emphasized his willingness to provide assistance and explore legislative measures to address the specific needs of each community.

As the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas continues its campaign trail nationwide, Sen. Bong Revilla vowed to uphold his commitment to real solutions and concrete actions that would uplift the lives of every Filipino.

Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas is rallying support for its senatorial slate and promoting its vision of a stronger and more prosperous nation ahead of the May 2025 elections. -30-
