Bong Revilla Humbled by Latest SWS Survey

Former Senator Bong Revilla expressed gratitude over the results of the latest survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) placing him in the 7th spot for preference for Senator. He said he was particularly more thankful because in a survey conducted by SWS just three months ago, he was outside the “Magic 12” in the 18th position with just 15%.

“I am greatly humbled by the outpouring of support. Having more than doubled my numbers in just three months is very humbling,” Revilla said. “Maraming salamat sa lahat ng patuloy na nagdasal, hindi bumitaw at patuloy na sumusuporta (I am very thankful to those who did not stop praying, always believed and always supported me),” he added.

On December 7, the Sandiganbayan acquitted Revilla of plunder, a verdict the returning Senator said was long overdue. “Mula nang ako ay siniraan at giniba noong 2013, hanggang sa ako ay sumuko para sumailalim sa prosesong legal, ipinahayag ko ang tiwala na mangingibabaw ang katotohanan na hindi totoo ang mga imbentong bintang sa akin (From the moment they started to demolish me in 2013, up to when I turned myself in to undergo the legal processes, I have always expressed my trust that the truth will prevail – that I am not guilty of the made up charges against me),” he stressed.

“At ngayon ngang nanaig ang hustisya at katotohanan, lubos akong nagpapasalamat na nariyan pa rin pala ang ating mga kababayan na hindi tumigil magtiwala at magmahal (Ang now that justice and truth has prevailed, I am very thankful that our kababayans apparently never ceased to trust and care),” Revilla expressed.

The comebacking lawmaker assured the electorate that he will continue to strive to be always worthy of the trust and support, adding that he will push for more measures that will reform the provision of social services and benefits to the constituency.
